101.
(Yeshua says:) Whoever does not hate his father and his mother in my
way, shall not be able to become a Disciple to me. And whoever does
[not] love his [Father] and his Mother in my way, shall not be able
to become a [Disciple to] me. For my mother [bore my body],
yet [my] True [Mother] gave me the life.
101. (Yeshúa dice:) Quien no odia a su padre y a su madre a mi manera, no podrá hacerse discípulo mío. Y quien [no] ama a su [Padre] y a su Madre a mi manera, no podrá hacerse discípulo mío. Pues mi madre [parió a mi cuerpo], pero [mi Madre] verdadera me dio la vida.

2NB This is the Coptic term used in the Sahidic version of Mt 2:4, Lk 2:7 and Jn 16:21, as listed by Crum. It means ‘to carry, bring forth’, and thus does not have the causative meaning of `po (‘to beget’, P175), which is a contraction of t.4wpe, ‘to-cause.to-become’ (P173-C779a)— as found most importantly in Th 15 and 46. The sense of these two logia, Th 15 together with 101, is surely that the Virgin brought him forth, but the Spirit caused him to be.
